Before I joined the Rebellion or fought for a cause
I worked at a diner, and hated my boss
I was that average nobody who didn't have friends
A rat in a maze
Crawling to a dead end
"One day I'll have purpose" I would whisper each night
Until I left my prison with a dream of spaceflight
And now, as the engines are bleeding out fuel,
the stars are my kingdom and
I was born to rule
Live in the cosmos, wear lots of green,
make the most of the few frames you have on the screen,
dance if you want to,
whip,
dip,
twirl,
And die like you're the king of the world.
I wasn't the bravest and I didn't like guns
But carrying for something always sounded like fun
So i found a recruiter, one day on a whim
He sold me a new start,
and gave me hair a sick trim!
(Several years later)
I'm on the attack
There's smoke in the cockpit and flames at my back
Living and loving has been such a privilege
So I'll take a deep breathe and aim
right for
the bridge.
Live in the cosmos, wear lots of green,
make the most of the few frames you have on the screen,
dance if you want to,
whip,
dip,
twirl,
And die like you're the king of the world.
Pass the fear, and the flames.
Sometime
somebody
somewhere
Is going to sing my name
As a howl leaves my chest with a triumphant tone,
all the beacons start flashing,
I can hear saxophone.
The deck glass gives way,
like sand to a spade,
My only regret is that I'll miss the parade.
Live in the cosmos, wear lots of green,
make the most of the few frames you have on the screen,
dance if you want to,
whip,
dip,
twirl,
And die like you're the king of the world.
