geckos on the terra cotta pots by the community pool

turns to poppers in the family room

I don't remember the dream

Wearing the heat like a collar
some stranger hollers at me from the AC of his SUV
sunburned on suburban borders with the sound of Baba O'Reily
collecting carts at the mall to trade quarters to the clerk for a can of tea

Stumble home through the spider webs
